R. Scott Alagood has been named a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly Magazine for 2012

R. Scott Alagood of Alagood & Cartwright, P.C., was recently named to the Texas Super Lawyers list as one of the top attorneys in Texas for 2012 in real estate. Less than 5 percent of lawyers in the state are selected to be part of the list, according to a news release.

Alagood received Super Lawyer recognition in 2003 and 2004. His firm was also named second place in the Best of Denton readers’ poll this year.

Alagood is a 1985 graduate of Denton High School. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Texas A&M University in 1989, followed by his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law in 1992. Alagood and Brian T. Cartwright formed their firm in 2004.

Now in its 10th year, Super Lawyers recognizes excellence in Texas law. Since 2010, the magazine has partnered with Thomson Reuters business data provider. The Super Lawyers list recognizes lawyers from more than 70 areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

Annual selections are made using a rigorous multi-phased process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates, and peer reviews by practice area.
